Gifts

Every gift is a voluntary donation. You receive no goods or services in return, and a gift does not make you a member of the foundation or give you any say in how it is run.

A gift to a project is used for that project. A general gift goes where the need is greatest. Zakat is kept in a separate restricted fund and is never used for construction.

If a project is fully funded, cancelled, or cannot go ahead as described, the foundation will use the gift for the most similar need in Kyengera, in keeping with your intention.

Monthly gifts and sponsorships

Monthly gifts, including sponsorships, are charged once a month until you cancel. A monthly gift to a project also stops automatically once that project reaches its goal, or if it closes. If a project raises more than its goal, the surplus goes to our general fund, where it is most needed. You can cancel at any time through our contact form, and no further payments will be taken.

Refunds

If you gave by mistake or the amount was wrong, contact us within 30 days and we will work with you to correct it. Refunds are at the foundation’s discretion once a gift has been spent on its purpose.

Tax

The foundation’s tax-exempt status and details are shown in the footer of every page. Receipts are emailed after each gift. Please keep them for your records and ask your tax adviser how the rules apply to you.

Content on this site

We work to keep project descriptions, goals and progress accurate and up to date, but figures can lag behind real events. The text, photos and brand marks on this site belong to Alamida Foundation or are used with permission. You may share links and short quotes; please ask before reusing photos or the logo.

Using the site

Please don’t misuse the site: no attempts to break in, overload it, send spam through its forms, or impersonate someone else. We may block anyone who does.

Other websites

Links to other websites, such as Google Maps, are for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Liability

The site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, the foundation is not liable for losses arising from using it or from its being unavailable.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
